- 1989, initiated the purchase andfinancing of the major part of the secured debt of Global Marine, Inc. of Houston, a major offshore drilling contractor that at the time emerged from bankruptcy
- Currently, President of GIL Energy, Inc. an Oil & Gas company he founded in 1991, and Partner in HiTex. He is also an investor, through affiliated corporations in energy, real estate, and small private and public companies
- Has served on the board of directors of several public (in Norway) and private companies
